This is a truly iconic product, born out of our own experience as volume propagators way back in the eighties. It was our idea to use a gel base for the rooting hormones and our development of that idea that lead directly to Clonex. It was, as far as we can tell, the first such gel on the market – anywhere. It is now the market leader on three continents and has a huge, and deservedly loyal, client base.

Growth Technology
Clonex is a very effective propagation hormone gel used for cuttings to root, usually the cutting will root in 1-2 weeks time in an appropriate environment. Clonex works for most plant species, some woody plants may take longer time to root given the right environment.

How to Use
Softwood and Semi-Hardwood cuttings
Select young growing shoots from your healthiest plants. If possible the growing tips can be sprayed with Clonex® Mist once or twice in the week before cuttings are taken. Cut off shoot tips (1), each with four or five pairs of leaves, and remove the two lower pairs of leaves cutting. Always use a clean sharp knife or blade. Make a clean diagonal cut across the base of the cutting just below the lowest leaf node.
Pour a small amount of Clonex into a separate container for immediate use. Do not dip cut tissue into the original container, and do not return any unused Clonex as this might contaminate the remaining gel.
Immediately dip the cutting into Clonex (2), about 15 mm, then insert the cutting into the propagation medium (3) just deep enough to support the cutting.
